it seems I prefer to be sung in and woven, it's the nicest a body comes to from all those deeps. and it's the craziest thing darling how we can be so intense with our colours, those ones that we sing from those deeps. and it curls out, but we can't be bothered with those funny things. we just laugh past, turn and blink. we yelp right past, don't let it sink. we're sounds from the thorax, breathe my diaphragm out; we are slippers and stocking from the deepest voice: says we just puppets and threads held by puppets with strings and all the paths that we breathe through we'll take as our colours sing in the pictures weaved out, that we weave out. but now all funny things are laughing at our silly strings and the last laugh comes from somewhere way too low down under me, just way to go, it's fun to sing. and our fingers, seems to be, are weaving with a tapestry.

it's hard just to believe that we met in the measure when we traveled a few different directions and realized the same length. it's difficult although I see in colour all of your fingers and flowers. "this wallpaper needs to get out of your room, it's just sour." is that what you think do you have a place for this length? out of the window, from the corner, after bouncing from the back of the room and singing it's brains out. the water leaks down from where the thing got it's sound, the sound that got our measure tapes out and now we argue about eighths. said this goes here, this there. this is some situation so why don't you follow my placement and into that patience? patient baby this has only got you by the back of your collar, and you holler like a tiger getting tagged on its toe well like the whiteness that the thing makes you choke. I wonder why the school house burned down when you play with lighters and they grab at your throat or by the back of your collar from the corner, and then it drags you to the back of the room and shows you the way out. see, we'll see that I feel kinda weak, you could say, but it's only of your heart beating so far, a dirty eye will see you fall and I will see you covered in blood in the forest, shouting shouting to see out. copper see your sounds alright and I'd love to come and say well patient baby this is only got you out of the window from the corner and it drags you to the back of the room, yes and after bouncing from the back of the room we're singing our brains out.

Coyote 04:59
coyote, scream your hunt song. your wife is screaming too; but not along to you and your raven eyes no reason fearing your slug tongue under her stocking feet your contingent evolution. the birds just laugh at your scorn. I try to hand you a bone and you leave all the flesh on. what kind of tricks are these then? my feet are set here in stone. people enjoy their freedom. but then how could you know? you keep yourself alone and canine teeth elbow squeezing. conjure hallucinations, kelp, smoke and LSD so we market thoughts in our fists. your fingers wrapped on her wrist like you were some kind of snake too. forget your fear lest you bruise. your gypsy eyes all slitted carry just such a load. Moth Dust 03:57
been searching for my self love been squawking at the fools and the lovers who tell me what to do. been seeking my suffering, been sorry for nothing while I watch for the solitary truth. but when I'm riding that horse snap. while I'm walking and I tell her the things I say I don't say them not for nothing at all. I fear death, I don't fear death. this moth dust is falling in a panic of words that have no sense. been watching for nothing been dragging my fingers in cold stream not wondering where it flows. who knows? but when I'm lying I snap back while I'm thinking that I'll tell her that there is meaning in the falling dust forever: that it falls that it falls and it means nothing that that it falls and leaves the silly monkey wondering how it goes. Gypsy Feet 03:36
here is the place I am going wandering safe on my shoes and the particle age of my wondering ears and light. nobody knows just where it's going and why should I hear what's just beginning through conscience I'll feel just what I'm singing in my mind. but gypsy we've got to be here, just you and I, to sing just right. and mock all transcendent sullied eyes. I am the scent upon the highway the choice of the path beneath your feet and understand the beats in the rhythm in the night. I am the leaves in your hair and the overture sea of your wonder one wandering east, with the sound of wind beside. but gypsy we've got to be here, just you and I, to sing just right and mock all transcendent sullied eyes. and gypsy we can't base on fear or simple desire from monkey size. just sing out and maybe we'll harmonize. but gypsy I think I'm not there; I won't recognize the functioning type. but it feels like this will turn out alright. yeah it feels like this will turn out alright. just sing out and maybe we'll harmonize. Coyote Canyon oh you're a coyote and oh I'm a dog in coloured sands that will not blend at the river river's end at the river river's end. here in the alder trees with stones in our socks, the addiction sun raises hands to lend, yes we find there is a trend at the river river's end at the river river river river's end oh I'm a coyote and oh you're a dog. it makes no kind of difference just where our bones are sent at the river river's end at the bitter river river's bitter end. Gypsy Hands 04:36
Gypsy Hands I'd like to tell you just what I've noticed, that we are bodies moving in the garden that is set with winter. the plants are gone now, and I think we laid the rows a little crooked and the rhythm sags but it makes the trees glow and gives us shadows to move between our levels, oh, and I know that my gypsy hands have chosen melody. and I see that my shadow sings around all the crooked stakes. I'm glad you're back now with your hands calloused: the soil needs your love and you must take it up. but I'm just drinking and singing out of my pores I'll use my body to make something sweet. we are the only living things here. the winter's cold but I think we're gonna make it glow. cause you know that our roots can move and beat through the solid trees. and we'll see that our shadows dance in spite of the winter's seed. here in the river I will sing my silly songs, I will set my many bones to the sea. and when I come, evaporate into the sun, I will set my twisted tongue and mind at ease. and without smoke I will wallow in eternal bliss of the eternal dying dream. and oh I'll be come back into the forest, just before the lord comes out of me. Moon Window 09:55
Moon Window world at the window washing all the songs away world of a woman with its tides and lunatics, might be time to lift your glassy eyes feel something with your full moon gaze. just a picture of the son's old age. still, it can't be sung. blind carpenter you built your house below this tide and in the shadow of a mountain it gets no light, though I'm sure it's fine if you treat your time like it's set in a cemented line. but necessarily there's nothing right 'cause I say that it's right and you should treat your mind. that precious skull in bind all the cambie eyes for your secrets disguised. and I, I'm just too young to be saying these things. but all the weathered faces down by the river dipped my hand in fresh water and I'm calm, so see that light tells age, and all the moon's tugging takes our ears away and I'm just leaving 'cause I found that it ain't rationality it's just the will to see. sweet mother tell your daughter that her roots are yours and that it is your own salt water that burns and makes them sore and to transfer your dehydrated shore, the moonless night and the american war. all that oil for your cambie store don't you want more don't you leave me with my dreams all gone. how'd we get that wrong? well it's taking so long, aren't you singing your song? followed the river with a pocket full of booze. all the roots looked like pipelines and fences and fences of schools. enough money in my pocket for food, so I couldn't lose. and the water made my body look like stone, so I grew. the night was open and an owl guided my boots. lord, the night was open and an owl showed me my roots. came to a clearing in the moonless night, all alone I smelled the air and I, I reached for my pipe when I noticed that the motion of all was in sight. we began our dance in silence but soon opened up our light to the sound of our voice and we danced all night, to the sound of our voice and we danced, lord we danced just right. after a while I lost all sense of time and space my mind is my body my body I succeed to extend all of the gypsies soon arrived and took off their shoes to rub their soles together, I laughed and I started to too. oh but their feet but their feet were steel cork boots. oh lord but their feet cut my feet and I had to leave that place too. Manzanita 04:54
Manzanita manzanita, this island slips my mind with how they move me in circles, or in spirals, twisting lines as osprey dive down. but these are my brothers, as arbutus tangling horns and leaves a family of thieves. not thieves, though, only hoarders building streams of sophophilia. and I speak still; I make symbols of things I've stolen from their tongues. we came from the river, from the river, mixed with wine and blood; we are their sons, thieved from the mother as the mothers of our children have been set free. Come, Gypsy 02:59
Come, Gypsy come gypsy won't you steal away with me; we'll leave this goddamn day and all we'll hear is the hobo's lullaby. and walking through the winter rain when all the monkeys are insane we'll sing their fears and things to calm ourselves. it's just we don't have to stay; there's nothing either way to discover or love so we'll wander off. and don't be afraid: our fates are sealed in rain and molecules infinity ah ah. I'll tell you twice and once again this world is worth every bit of pain and if you catch yourself unhappy, then I'll let you catch that boxcar home if you don't mind traveling alone and if you think you've any home at all. it's just we don't have to stay; there's nothing either way to discover or love so we'll wander off. and don't be afraid: our fates are sealed in rain and molecules infinity ah ah. Brother 05:21
Brother oh my daughter came out of the forest. with nettle on her knees and tongue with song she came out into chorus: "I am not afraid; my breasts are your aging face. now take my hand and feel my way." and I took it knowing the difference. my songs moved to her and she listened. my brother, I tell you, my love is not coveted like they sit there on my shoulder. still my daughter - niece to you I've written - comes so sweetly; though she sleeps in winter and she is so afraid since I got my head okay, and leaving here, my feet just never stay - "one more coffee babe" her winter is making me shiver like birches that burn me with silver: that they don't belong here and I belong everywhere. now take my season as shelter, my brother, please. oh my brother the choice is ever either. let the voices that you hear come out your skull and find themselves inside your ears. do not be afraid, it's language you've chosen and you must keep that way maybe you're crazy, say; just schizophrenic and unhappy. how mind muddied matter gets sappy. but I just see music, so we must share more than just cheekbones and ears: ain't that something? oh brother, please. Rooster's Call well honey you walk in lookin just like the fine china with your feathers tucked around your ankles with that Santa Muerta step, lord. pusher lady drop your gun, cause I don't need that love drug. put your Christ away, this is a game and I don't need that love drug. you ask me to sing, but I got other things to do. you tell me I'm lovely, then you tell me not to be so cruel. well, I'd like to come, but honey, I got other things to do. and just last week you went on down that mountain summit looking for some peace of mind, you found it. well, I got over my own grave, but I don't need no medicine, I don't need no medicine at all. no I don't need to read your palm, you'd just snuff me with that love drug. I took you to the river where the gypsy mother said it all. I took you before now I barely wanna come at all. I should be leavin, said that rooster he just made his call. yeah I took you before now I barely wanna come at all. well I take alot of drugs but never from just one. and when it comes to love I'm as jealous as the sun. I make them see through mottled leaves and take them to the otherside of fear. and outside looking in they see they're trapped inside a bubble sphere. well I supply these revelations then I'm tired and I let you fall. you might come still thinking that I don't love you at all. now, that ain't true dear the sun must just come and go. and I'm just leaving cause I heard that rooster he just made his call. about

Moon Window was recorded in the first eleven days of February 2011 in Ladysmith, British Columbia at the Noise Floor. All songs were written by Benjamin Woods between 2009 and 2011 (a couple in the studio). The style of music varies widely from song to song, as Benjamin has a low threshold for monotony.
The addition of one family's musical prowess (Mack Shields, Gabe Pinchbeck, and Ari Jonsson - three brothers) and our other gypsy friends - Blaine Komatich, Teryl Jackson - along with Jordan Koop's devoted mixing makes Moon Window a debut album to be reckoned.
Most instrumental parts, beside the original composition of the songs, were developed at the studio during the eleven days of recording and mixing. This ability to manifest the muse in the moment is translated into a strong live performance by the Benjamin Woods Band.
