Omniscience 04:13
post-human trickster must bring the light before his family eyes, covered up with sleeplessness, out before the song sung aloud to the priestess in certainty calls but still I know nothing at all. hear the calmer voice below the morning from the night through the haunting birch trees justice sinking with the sight of an owl perched, melting from the call and still I know nothing at all. but you know oh brother hear the calmer voice out the tremor cross the world in her raven skin touch the painted Blackfoot hymns and take your sin into a song what will find wrong to be nothing at all there is one thing I know; I've been here. I have walked this road. I don't know where; and I don't remember when; but it must have been here; and I guess it was then.

the shape-shifter comes out of the alley as a snake and takes my cigarette. and he knows my name, set the same as ghosts in his mind. and as we speak up walks our brother, the hummingbird who swallows my water to quench his incestuous words. and my lover was my sister, until I left her at the river where he found her and he kissed her and organized the question. and they sing hallelujah got my body burnt up to a crisp with this crucifix hallelujah in the morning I will wake to the rushing of the river and they all play with the joker who sings about his mother and his dreams seem the shifting and the lifting of the lover so I set out far above her, spin a web, and her Romani blood is the substance of the river and it acts as the center and believing is seeing so we step to the beat and we all begin to screech chorus and oh my mother said do not go oh my mother said must not go to the river for there be reptiles and rodents and broken bottled omens they'll fork your tongue, my son, at the river. and oh my mother said chorus babble

Osiris 02:38
I am Osiris yes I am Osiris, heavy on your eyelids I am Osiris. come my sister Isis I am Osiris heaven in your eyelids yes come my sister Isis, this river leaves me lifeless come to your Osiris. in this river they have buried me in leaven of the pharisees, Blind faith it has buried me, oh. so come my sister Isis, risen bread of the righteous I am Osiris, oh.

All that feasts upon the world come and save my soul. Here I seek to own; strike me down; come and save my soul - the devil's own. Learn about the storms, yet they still come: he's a tricky one. But do not fear the crow; stand below; understand the sun: the devil's on the dark side of the sun. ------------------ Calmly does the bird devour. Devil make me feast so sweetly. I know it's all right to make off in the night with just a shadow to keep us along. Taste here, this flesh is not fear but the knowledge of a severed song. Sweetly does the siren sing. Lord make me sing so calmly. ------------------ Night finds us waking, shaking the pull of a half lit moon. Sink to the river, shiver the priestess howls soon. Night finds us shaking in the wake of the tide inside this womb. Sink to fresh water, the sycophant daughter, bride to bloom. This child of the witches, circling through the cigarette fire. With bruises and blisters calls to her sisters the moaning choir. And I am the raven watching, waiting for truth. The metaphors melting the words, the milk, the womb. Calmly....

birdies on birdy wings telling me something about birdy things. I won't leaf on lifted wing. the autumn will not see me falling again. and in the snow I know my heart will be sown, forget all the icy whirlpools I have stoned. and here, in this morning, the springtime does sing. and the winds with seed do blow. and the fields are fallowed. so listen to me as I let out a wooo let the fruits come let the seedlings grow.
6.
Thistle Seed 03:53
cover me in thistle seed where my own bones will find their ease. lover read yourself through me press your tongue to my teeth. and I will feel your words, where he made them to molasses, choked them with his tempest, I will peel your cover. come for me you little dream; let us not waste our sense of taste. let this breath tickle our chest, our body rests. and come to know the breadth of its bones. and here inside this flesh your potent words will grow in tangles and fill up every angle of my body's cover.

is is not is made

These songs were recorded with Charlotte Jayne at the Noise Floor almost one year ago; I feel far enough removed to let them wander freely at this point.
I've been asked what the river metaphor is all about. I usually reply vaguely because I do not know, as I claim repeatedly in the opening song.
However, in my own considerations it seems the most potent reference is to the perception of time flowing as a river.
There is chaos as much as calm in rushing or flowing water. The mess of molecules tumbles over itself.
I imagine water moving through time as time moving through my body. The river thought is schizophrenic.
I re-member the light in the river; and so it is with these six demos.
